These are nice, what is your medium? Is there a sealer/gloss protectant on the surface?
The moon looks to be one kind of stone, and the background of the sea creature similar?
A
Alberta Stone
Beige travertine is the cream color, The black wolf and background is a black slate,
The salmon is a combination of 5 different kinds of slate. All the stone is 1/2 inch thick.
They are wet honed, epoxy grouted and sealed with a monument sealer with a high gloss.
The slates can be difficult to work with as they tend to shear, like mica into flakes and little points can snap off with ease.
I am working on several more, but using granite combined with a very hard platinum silver slate.
I will post those pics next week when they are done.
