Two weeks of very interesting stone work - Inkpen, Berkshire | Tiling Advice | TilersForums.com

Stone from south of France, mulicoloured, delivered in slabs, sizes were from 20x30cm upto 1.2x1.5mtr and between 2-7cm thickness, and no straight edges. Designed the pattern in garden - wet cut each stone, then tempered all edges with hammer to give the natural uneven look. Laid onto a perfect flat screed in thick bed. Maybe a member from the Newbury area remembers the job as 5 Tiling companies from the area would not quote on the job as they did no where to start or how to do it. The raw stone priced at 300 pounds per sqm including delivery looked like someone had put together all of their leftovers. In total 80sqm to lay and was completed in 12 days with 1 helper. All sealed and dusted with another very happy customer. If the site foreman Graham reads this I would like to thank him for making our stay in Newbury a pleasure and his organisation between the trades was 10 out of 10.
