Advice on trim with mosaics

Hi I am hoping you can help I am having my kitchen tiled with polished marble moasiacs above all the kitchen counter and ending at the window edge not tiling into the window recess would you advise to use trim or butt the edges leaving the til exposed?

I am also having a strip of local tiling from the sink to the ceiling in my downstairs toilet and would like to know again whether to use trim on the sides or leave the tiles Iam using these tiles NSM Tumb Trav/Marble White Rand B/Mosaic which have edges that slot into each other so would have cut edges on the sides

I really hope you can help as want this done asap.

It's your choice as wether to use trim of you can have the edge of the tile showing. Square edge Chrome trim looks nice especially if you have Chrome in the kitchen.

Having used "Trim" and "No trim" options I believe its better to trim. Its a personal opinion

Trim

Up Close

No Trim.

OK So the example is on full tiles (not mosaic) but I think it highlights the point.

Also the trim in this project is natural / cream to blend in rather that "white"
Chrome is a good contrast too

thanks for the replys would you also trim the local tiling or leave bare edge

Also where the tiles finish in the kitche would you trim or leave bare tile?

if the mosaics have a finished edge, same as the face of the tile then i wouldn't use trim, but as with most things its personal choice..

Sorry not sure I have explained very well in the kitchen it will be a tiled splashback all the way around between the work surfaces and the cupboards so there will be a few edges where the tiles end would it be best to trim these or leave bare?

Thanks for the pics of the no trim in the kitchen my concern is as I am not going to tile into the window recess how would it look? also could you take a pic of where the tiling starts so I can see what it looks like without the trim.

can't take a pic now it was a job i did for a customer........i'll try and fish some more out....



last 4 pics are a bathroom, but it will give you an idea what they look like flat on the wall without trim...

If you do have any kitchen pics or of mosaics around windows but not into the recess that would be amazing

The marble mosaics, its up to you if trim is used or not.

I dont know what you mean by "local" tiling, but if there are mosaics going in and it will leave a cut edge, it will look much better with trim.

the tiles are from topps but you they dont have images on the web otherwise i would post

no pics of round window only im afraid, think it would depend on if you could get full tiles round the window, this would give you a good edge, if you know what i mean, if not then trim would be the answer.

no trim gets my vote
