Im laying 600x400x15 Jura Beige honed tiles on my kitchen floor, and have received conflicting advice!

I bought LTP Mattstone with the tiles, along with the recommended adhesive and grout.

A builder friend advised to seal the front and back before installation which I’ve been diligently doing in batches.

I popped into Topps Tiles earlier to get a trowel, and the bloke told me that I’m wrong and that by sealing the underside the adhesive won’t stick.

But then I’ve just read someone on here in another thread advise to do front, back and sides.

I’m a bit confused - are Topps Tiles talking out their overpriced bottoms?

Thanks - when you say correct fixing method...

I’d bought a trowel with rounded 20x10 teeth, and was going to also backbutter the tile with a smooth coat (thickness ??).

I’ve also bought a load of perfect level master clips and wedges (thick version) plus 2mm and 3mm spacers (undecided currently but leaning toward 3mm grout lines).

The floor was covered with Lino previously and is screeded (circa 7 years old) so was just going to clean and dust it - but I’d been reading up on primer and thinking that may be required too?

Your fixing method is fine, it won't do it any harm to prime the floor beforehand.

By fixing method, I was referring to other techniques like fixing in sand and cement, semi dry or wet. Both of these methods required some natural stones to be sealed before fixing as the cement could stain the stone. Alas, it is a dying art in our trade.
