Hi
I’m in the middle of getting white tiled floors installed and I’m not happy about the grout colour. It’s grey.
I wanted white but avoided it in case of future staining etc but I have seen so many white that don’t appear to have a problem. I really want white now but half the house has already been tiled - please can you advise?
Here’s a pic of our hall - the kitchen n small bedroom are the same but he hasn’t started the living room n main rooms yet - please can you advise or help?

Where have you seen these floors. Pictures or real life ,
I see a lot of floors and not many are white most if which have discoloured grout so to be honest you are going to make life really difficult for yourself .

and against my advice she insisted on white grout, I must of checked with her 20 times before I did it.....
now she's ringing me asking how to clean the grout as it looks terrible and she wish she took my advice..

I've got a white floor with white grout. Did my whole downstairs with it. I used Kerakoll epoxy and it still looked dirty after a few weeks. HG grout cleaner and then Mapei Fuga Fresca got it white again and it's holding up pretty well. If I was doing it again I wouldn't bother with the expense of epoxy as it still won't stay white. A decent quality grout plus sealer is the way to go I think, and bank on regular maintenance.
In your case though, I'd stick with the colour you've got. People on here advised me not to go with white but wifey was adamant. It's a european thing :)
If you really do want to change it then I'd rake the grey out and re-grout with white. Finishing it in grey and then trying to dye it white would work out cheaper, but it's a lottery and might look patchy or off-white.

Sealers usually depend on the type of grout used. Technology has changed grout quite a bit, instead of a 7-8% absorption rate, some grouts claim to be down to 2% or less so don't require sealing. Some people feel you should seal everything despite what the company says. Sealing prevents almost nothing, only gives you a longer timeline to clean up an accident, it doesn't make the coffee jump back in your cup once spilled.
