    Tile levelling 10cm x 20cm

For someone with much less tiling experience would it be worth using a levelling system on rectangular bathroom wall tiles 40cm x 25cm - many thanks

    Tile levelling 10cm x 20cm

I don’t think you need the levelling system for small tiles, make sure the walls are straight and flat.

    Tile levelling 10cm x 20cm

I've recently done my first full bathroom tile using 30cm x 60cm tiles and a levelling system which was superb in getting a flat finish with no lippage. I'm doing a second install but with 10cm x 20cm tiles, should I use a levelling system and if so any recommendations on brand? If a levelling...

    Which tiling system is best?

What is it about 9mm ply that doesn't satisfy the standards for tiling? Which tiling standards are you referring to? Thanks for the info on Rocatex. I received an email from them today confirming the Rocatex products that would need to be used to match the OMNIE supplied Tilemasters tiling...

    Large format tiling

Hi, I have 40m2 of extension joined onto about 30m2 of the existing house that I want to tile with somthing like 60x60 tiles. Both parts have underfloor heating and the extension was screeded with sand and cement about 4 weeks ago now. The whole floor is level over the 12meters but wouldn't...

    Wunda underfloor heating

Hi dan , everything sounds hollow so to speak . When you walk on the bare wunda board there is a certain amount of softness you can feel . Maybe I’m just to old school for this . Every tile is fully stuck , every tile is buttered . How long do you think 100 meters of this should take on your own...

    Wunda underfloor heating

What feels wrong under foot? Does it sound hollow? What size trowel did you use? (you can't dot and dab tiles - hope you didn't do that?) It appears you've done it to their spec. No specialist tools are required, they can be simply cut to shape using a fine toothed saw or craft knife. MAPEI...

    Tile Levelling plastic breaks?

Hi, I am about to fix some ceramic 600 x 300 rectified tiles to a bathroom wall and was planning to use the PREMTOOL tile levelling system for the first time. Having read some reviews of these type of systems, some people have said that the plastic does not always snap in the right place...

    Expansion joint advice

...heating and I plan to leave an 8mm approx gap around the perimeter under the skirting boards. Planning to use theRaimondi RLS Levelling System and the tile spacers I got are 1.5mm. I have read a lot online about expansion joints, tile fields etc. and I'm more confused than ever at this...

HELP! Do we need a DPM before laying tiles

No it wont unless it's free liquid water. Moisture vapour doesnt work like that. 1593632887 You cannot solve ground borne moisture using a liquid DPM. These are designed to protect against residual moisture only. You need a proper tanking system designed to protect against variable moisture...

    PorcelQuick Adpeds?

    1. Dot and Dab is laying 2cm porcelain onto wet mortar dabs, Adpeds is laying screed pedestals that have to dry before fixing porcelain with cement based tile adhesive. 2. Dot and Dab has variable sized dabs with no cross support between slabs. Adpeds have same sized pedestals that cross link...

    Curve on tile

I agree with Tony_c there. For sure use a levelling system and check to see what the box says about percentage stagger etc and stick with it. I used similar tiles not so long back and before fitting advised my customer that they couldn't have a 50/50 offset due to the warp in the tile and...

    Curve on tile

Very common on tiles that size and style, use a tile leveling system and check the box for recommendations of patterns

Tiling Onto Concrete. Should I use uncoupling mat.

Hello, I have a small kitchen to tile in porcelain onto a concrete floor and would be grateful for your views on using a decouple membrane. I have lifted the old tiles and cleaned up the substrate which is in good condition. There is a small hair line crack which has been covered with self...

    Question regarding plywood?

Hi Yavo, None, Use a tile backerboard/insulation board instead, a far superior product to be tiling to. You will also need to latex over the UFH cables to protect them and create a level surface over the whole area for tiling or use a cable carrying system like Ditraheat, DCM pro but you will...

Levelling Systems - What do YOU Recommend? Which brand and why?

I was planning on using S.compound before hand in the lower areas and when i say build up with adhesive, I mean within reason! Good point on marking or wearing the Marble. I wont try the levelling system on this particular job. I would still like the recommendations on the levelling systems?

Levelling Systems - What do YOU Recommend? Which brand and why?

...up with adhesive the majority of the time. This year i want to increase my speed and better my habits and i have heard the floor levelling systems are good and speed you up and take away any lipping with ease (I am in no illusion that i would not have to build up with adhesive underneath...

    Being too fussy?

It's the brand name, a tile levelling system.

    Being too fussy?

With all the levelling systems on the market right now, no real excuse. Wouldn't bother too much myself with the 600x600s but even a lot of the DIY places stock the lash clips.
