Hi All
I am just about to tile my porch floor which is screeded. The surface is completely sound but is 35 years old having had carpet tiles on it for the entire duration.
Do I need to seal it up using something like primer G before I start tiling?
Thanks
Peter
I am building a small wet room which is 900 x 1850. I am using an AKW Tuff form 900 x 1400 former so there is a 450mm gap at the end which needs to be raised to the level of the former (22mm). The former and the filler piece will be screwed down to the same sub-strait so there is limited...
Yes it is suspended. I had an alternative thought. I have some fairly extensive levelling to do so whilst I am about it I could simply raise the last 450mm up by 4mm relative to the rest. I could then put in a section of 18mm ply, seal it then fleece over the lot.
The wetroom I am about to start building has a floor area 900 x 1850. The former is a GRP 900 x 1400 x 22 so I need to fill the 450 x 900 space at the end of the former. I considered putting a 9mm ply base down with 12.5mm backer board over the top which will bring the level up to within...
I am building a wet room, I have settled on an GRP former and tiled floor however the question is what to grout with.
Ordinary cement grout may be ok however it will be wet for much longer than on the wall and is porous. I am presuming that normal grout will mark with grease from feet etc and...
Thanks for the comments.
OK on the comments about Mosaics, I am inclined to agree for all the same reasons. I also don't think that they give a particularly satisfying result. The point loading was the reason that I opted for a GRP former.
It 's a DIY project; I like to think that I am...
Hi
I am about to build a small wetroom (900 x 1850) and will be using an AKW former. The question is what to put on the floor.
The general suggestion is to use mosaics on the floor as it minimises the cutting by follow the fall. Many of the mosaics are made of natural stone which is, as they...
