I'm about to start a job replacing damaged and chipped 1m2 tiles and I'm a little concerned as I don't want it to get silly. I'm worried about replacing one if all tiles surrounding it are already fixed. I plan on dot and dabbing it and hope fully pressing it down into place but what if there's too much or too little adhesive. Well I guess I can prevent it from falling below the mark but with 2 mm spacing there isn't a lot of room to wiggle the tile down into position. If i need to lift it out I'm screwed. Any suggestions....

Why bother replacing it if you are going to put it back incorrectly? Dot and dab is not an advisable fixing method, a tile that size needs to be on a solid bed.

I was planning on extensive dot and dabbing so that it would still leave a little bit of space for fitting into position...cheers for getting back though

cut a piece of ply wood into a dog eared screed if the tile is 12mm thick allow 15mm on the cut out , fill the base with rapid set adhesive and remove the excess adhesive with your newly made screeding baton ,allow to set then use a notched trowel to give you the coverage on the tile you need

Yeah actually this is prob the best idea, have used this technique loads of times before just too tired at the minute to have thought of it...cheers, really appreciate your response!
