as grumpy said but i'd use BAL rapid set on the concrete floor!:8:
It's his first job, rapid set might go off a bit quick for him. SFP would give him a bit more time.

BAL APD is an acrylic primer useful for all sorts of surface priming. Give it half an hour and DH will post you a full discription I'm sure.

cheers grumps mate... ..

here you go the details on APD for you....
bal rapidset will be fine for porcelain on concrete.. only mix enough that you will use in about half hour or so, other wise you will waste to much...SPF takes 16 hrs to set so will slow you down to much on floors....and grout with flexi grout....

BAL Prime APD
prime_apd.jpg

A modified acrylic polymer dispersion for use as a primer for a variety of backgrounds/bases prior to fixing ceramic tiles, mosaics and natural stone and prior to the application of levelling compound and the BAL WP1 TANKING SYSTEM. BAL PRIME APD isolates products containing calcium sulphate such as gypsum plaster and anhydrite screeds from cement-based adhesives, thus minimising the risk of reaction between the two materials.

Also suitable for use on cement:sand rendering, blockwork, plasterboard, cement:sand screeds and timber. It also provides surface strength to friable surfaces and reduces the porosity of porous backgrounds/bases, thus preventing the formation of air bubbles and prolonging the flow time with levelling compounds and extending the open time of tile adhesives. The primer is blue in colour to help ensure that a complete and even coating is obtained

BAL Rapidset
rapidset.jpg

A cement-based, polymer modified, non-slip, rapid setting, water-resistant and frost-resistant adhesive suitable for fixing ceramic wall and floor tiles including fully vitrified and porcelain, ceramic mosaics, quarry tiles, dark natural stone, terrazzo and brick slips. Suitable for a variety of backgrounds/bases including concrete/brick/block walling, cement:sand rendering, gypsum plaster, plasterboard, fibre cement sheets, cement:sand screeds, ceramic/quarry tile/terrazzo/hard natural stone, vinyl tiles/sheet, mastic asphalt. BS EN 12004 C2FT Adhesive.

NOTE: The physical properties of BAL RAPIDSET with Porcel Bond Plus can be enhanced by the addition of BAL ADMIX AD1.

BAL Superflex Wide Joint Grout

A highly flexible, water and frost-resistant cement-based powder grout with built-in admixture specially designed for use in areas where increased flexibility and enhanced durability are required. Suitable for grouting tiles with joint widths up to 20mm. Suitable for interior and exterior locations on both wall and floor tiling. Ideal for grouting limited movement areas such as timber floors or heated screeds. Suitable for grouting in swimming pools. Conforms to BS EN 13888, Type C, Class G2.
