Well today i attended the UFH heating training session which was presesented by Aaron from UHeat.
The morning started with a few no shows but the session went ahead.
I feel all aspects that are needed for installing such systems were fully covered and a lot more besides.
Any questions taht were asked were answered by Aaron.
We learnt about the 2 main systems for under tile heating, Mats and loose cable. Questions and suggestions about fixing mats and cables to the floor before using SLC were thrown around the room and it was good to hear of other attendees experiences.
Testing the systems with a multimeter was covered and also the use of the monitor box that is available. If you are fixing any type of electric UFH system then i would reccomend one as a must have.
We were told how to calculate the correct system to order by measurements but if in doubt Aaron is only a phone call away as are other members of the UHeat team.
Thermostats were covered too with an explanation of which one would be the better one to go for , some were simple and were favoured by the older age person who wanted basic, up to the digital models that handled floor and air tempretures.
We were shown how heat would be lost without insulation boards and also shown the 2 main boards used.
I feel that it was a well worth day ( or Morning) and can only say that when other dates are announced that it would be well worth everyones time to grab a place quick.
Now, i am not one to be able to take in so much info in such a short space of time and i feel it would have been good to have some written key notes to take away with us at the end of the session to keep it all fresh in the mind. Maybe in future that could be addressed.
i would like to thank all that did attend on the early session, those on the later sessions and i hope you all found it interesting and went home learning something.
Thank you Aaron and UHeat.
