2 bathrooms - floorboards

Hi there

Wondered what u guys would price for this job.

bathroom 1

7.4 m2 onto old floorboards...these need to be secured to the joists...maybe a couple replaced...in a bad way. Then room needs to be overboarded. Then tiled with pocelain 300 x 300 cuts need to be made around toilet, bday, bath, basin base.

bathroom 2

1.94 m2 same as above but only needs cuts round basin base.

Hi.

Just worked this out...i'll be overboarding with hardibacker 6mm, customer wants diamond pattern in both bathrooms. Some tricky cutting.

Bathroom + Shower

Secure Floorboards.

Overboard Floorboards with Hardibacker 6mm cement based water resistant backerboards.

Fix tiles, diamond set layout with flexible adhesive.

Grout tiles.

Supply and Fix threshold strips at transition between tile and carpet.

Materials: 275

Labour: 480

Thinking its going to take me 4 days for both rooms as its first time diamond, and theres some tricky cutting...feel like i should be charging 580 labour but think i'll lose the work if i go that high...what u reckon?

Seems high in terms of materials to me and also very high for labour IMO

forgot to mention they are ceramic tiles...

hmmm 4 days @ 120 to high? what would your price be?

I would get backer boards at about £100, adhesive £50.
Tile in one day no problem and grout next (3 hours max)
of course we all work differently but if you are competing for this quote you need to know the market.

Actually you said porcelain in original post.

yep was originally porcelain...now different tile 300 x 300 ceramic.

Surely the day does not include securing floorboards and overboarding?

I guess its the diamond pattern that has made me think about increasing the quote...its hard cause i'm still learning, and want to do a quality job, but again i know the customer and don't want her to feel like i'm ripping her off...i think 300 labour is to little as i've seen the job...480 maybe a little to high though.

yep 165 to high make it 120 with spare board for hardibackers
