2 grout colours

Hope you all had a good xmas.....

I have a job booked in Jan... A bathroom with beige tiles, with a dark brown vertical strip, in the middle of taps..
She want beige grout, and brown grout on strip.. I have never used two colours of grout on same wall..

Surely masking tape is not good enough? as first grout will squige into 2nd grout colour gaps!!!
Or are you just careful!..
How long do you leave it until 2nd grout colour?
dark shade first or 2nd?

any tips appreciated..

Dark grout first and allow to set then use the lighter colour....

I use duct tape after first colour is dry

Or separate the 2 tiles and colours with chrome either side to make it easier

You can always push string in grout line to separate areas.

You could grout one colour first. Then come back the next day to grout the other!

I have just read, your "first year in tiling" post sean.. Great read, I have just about done my first year, and it sounds quite similar to mine.. except I think I have done about 4k!! oh yeh. :8:
