I might borrow as much money as I can and go on loads of cruises, just in case the Mayan prophecy for 21st Dec 2012 comes true.

Seriously though I will strive to attract more bespoke (high end) work, maybe push the geometric market more.

I do think we need to specialize, and corner a niche. There is an ever increasing threat to good tilers from semi-skilled workers, who can under-cut our prices, by turning out shoddy, badly prepared jobs.

I hope that the old adage " the cream always rises to the top" is still true.

So I will continue to do what I have always done, my best. Here's to a very prosperous new year for us, one and all.

I would like to slow down a bit! After an operation on my back 15 years ago and coming home every night with sore back, knees elbow, i want a rest! Done quite a few big floors this year, not to mention the shopfitting work and numerous full bathroom refurbs. Like bri i like the idea of a showroom but seen to many come and go. Waiting for that old codger doug boardley to take me fishing!!

Trev, bad back, knees, elbows, etc. I can sympathize, just the norm for a tiler. But we keep plodding on.

I think I have been very lucky over the years, my body is still going strong. Maybe this is down to my apprenticeship, (tough times) in those days, I was taught never to moan or whine. Just get on with the job in hand.

I will be 40 yrs old in Jan 1992, so I thank my lucky stars that I am still able to do my job, when I think of the alternative, 2012 is a bonus.

Time's Ran Out

I think I might employ a young secretary, have an affair, get divorced and give my ex wife half of everything.

Now where can I find someone who will have a short, bald grumpy old man with a beard - Snow White!

But I'am 'Happy' so I'll just celebrate another good year and look forward to the next 12 months with new contacts, more commissions and the enjoyment of Tilers Forum.

Merry Xmas and a prosperous New Year to all that read.

John.
