240 to 110

Gents just wanted to know what you guys do when working on site? Im all geared up for domestic work and my tools are 240, got a commercial job coming up and dont really want to spend money on new kit. Is there any tranformers that would step down to 110?

You'll need something like this:- step up, not step down transformer.

I doubt any of the big sites would allow that. They may also ask for pat testing certificates.

All you need for tile cutting is angle grinder if ceramic or porc. £55

As Siramic says i doubt you'll be able to take any 240v on site. Especially the larger commercial ones, a small builder may not be too fussed.
It's just easier to buy 110v when you replace kit, then you know you have the gear for any job.

as charlie1 says, just get and 110v angle grinder to begin with and see how far you go before spending any more money.

Talk to the site agent, some sites do allow 240 volt if protected by an rcd, can't harm to ask, but as the rest say, when you replace get 110 v, you can always use them on domestics with a transformer.
