250 x 400 - tubbed or powder

Got a medium sized job on using 250 x 400 porcelain on skimmed plasterboard.
Have used tubbed or powdered on previous jobs, depending on the m2, but just like to know what the concensus is.

Tubbed gear isn't suitable, mainly 'cos your tile is porcelain, and it's bigger than your average tile. Single part flexible or mosaicfix is the way to go...........Gaz

Has anyone used Palace SuperGrip Acrylic Tub Adhesive? Its technical data says it can fix all types of wall tile (porcelain,stone,etc), even the largest and heaviest. It does not say what the limitations are tho.

"When fixing porcelain tiles the drying time of the adhesive will be significantly extended therefore grouting should be
delayed until the adhesive is fully dry, additionally any porcelain tiles of size 300mm x 300mm or greater should ideally be fixed using a
cement based adhesive. Additionally, all types of large format ceramic tile, i.e. those with dimensions of 300mm x 400mm or more, will also
significantly prolong the drying time of this adhesive and a cement based alternative is strongly recommended in such circumstances."

Why not C1T Pawelzik?

Because its porcelain. For these I recommand addy with C2 adhesive force minimum.

Just an add on to this thread. I am going to be starting a job soon involving 300 x 600 ceramic tiles onto plasterboard. Never tiled a wall with this size before but will be using a powder based adhesive. My local supplier stocks bal adhesives. They have a C1 tile powder adhesive called CTF3, which i am thinking will do the job after the plasterboard is primed with acrylic primer. Has anyone used this type of adhesive before, good? bad? or other recommendations?

If they are ceramic it will be fine....but for added security i would use a flexi one maybe bal spf or mapei adesliex p9...
