25x35 wall tile addy

Hi folks , lookin to pick ur brains quickly..tiling a wall with 25x35 ceramic tiles in a bathroom which includes in the shower and was wondering if tubbed addy is ok for tiles this size and if its suitable for a shower area? Nerver usually use tubbed unless tilng a splashback or something but the customer has bought the tiles and addy with the advice of the boy in the shop.

Any thoughts?

Which adhesive is it..?........Dispersion would be ok on that format but needs to suitable......

Ahh i knew u were going to ask that... Not sure havent saw it yet but will check on friday for being water resistant suitable for showers and for use on plaster skimmed walls but as long as it ok for use on a tile that size that cool.

Anything else i should look for apart from the above mentioned??

It should state on the bucket that it is Acrylic......then it will be ok.....I still prefer cement based but will be ok....And always read the manufactures instructions and prep on the tub.....( priming wise etc ).......

Ok thanks again Dave ill have a look and if it doesnt say Acrylic then ill be going back to cement based!!

I know its a matter of opinion and dependant on adhesive quality but I would have thought it safer to fix a tile that size in cement based....no problem with drying time then.

If the background is primed and then tiled with ready mixed it could take as much as a fortnight for the adhesive to dry properly in the shower area!!!

:iagree:with Dock, a cement based addy C2TE or C2TE S1 would be fine.
