I've been asked to quote on a job that the customer wants 4" x 4"tiles in a random pattern in her bathroom. Now I was going to charge day rate but thought i'd just check with you guys as it is around 7m2 with 3 colours ceramic.

am I wrong in my thoughts......

or due you charge a different kind of rate for smaller type tiles?

Time's Ran Out

Hawk - In 1973 there was only 6inch and 4inch tiles (152 & 108mm ) available and we used to get the same rate for both.
We charge different rates now for the bigger tiles 600x400 and mosaics as there is generally a lot more work associated with this type of tiling.
In a kitchen it would be far easier to fix 100mm tiles to splashbacks rather than a large format tile IMO and i take the same logic to a bathroom.
Without seeing the condition of the walls - and for smaller sized tiles they should be good - 7sq mts should be no more than one and a half days work of any sized tile so you should go with the higher of the two rates.
