Booted up and old PC and found a couple of my older websites.
Advance Floor Heating was a decent website that ranked high for 'underfloor heating' and 'electric underfloor heating' back in 2004ish.
Versatherm was the blue insulation board that everybody now sells. I was the 2nd UFH company to source it. Paul Short from Floor Heating Ltd was the first. We had a great love/hate relationship always competing in rankings and on price etc - but he used to save my bacon when I under ordered stock. Used to charge me for it mind but he'd always make sure I made a few quid. I registered the trademark Versatherm and started to supply other online stores and ship it out direct to the customer for them - with the boxes plastered in Advanced Floor Heating stickers. Wrong I know but it worked.
His brand, Fastwarm still exists.
I was very proud of both of those websites and the AFH one was one I spent a lot of time developing. The 3D type image that was "warm" was ahead of its time at the time. Back then I used to spend 3k per month on Google Advertising, as well as ranking very highly too.
But I was what I call a busy idiot. Spending no time with family and friends and earning a shed load, but doing nothing with it.
Exciting business at the time but for a 20 year old it was far too big to run on my own. I wish I had some guidance back then but never did have. Surprised I got it as big as it was when I look back now as I made a fair few **** ups.
