So, yeah ... Hi!

Having been employed by the public sector for ten years and now with all the Government cutbacks, I've taken the bull by the horns, taken voluntary redundancy and retrained in tiling.

I finish my current employment on 31 March and start trading on 6 April ... I thought I deserved a few days off!

Will hopefully offer a mixture of tiling, painting, decorating, general handyman services as well as continuing to retrain in other areas such as plastering and plumbing with a vision to offer the whole nine yards in terms of property maintenance. In the meantime, I will have to subcontract those jobs out, but the Business Plan is there, I'm just eager to get my hands dirty and hopefully find some customers!

Hope to be seen around here on a regular basis.

Cheers
Jamie

hi Jamie im new here myself, i have done much of what you are about to embark on. It has been good to me over the years, although i do ache a bit now a days lol. Still fitter then you old office boys though. There will be tough times and good times but there is nothing like being your own boss or holding your own destiny in your own hands. Best of luck to yer

Thanks to both of you.

I did laugh at the 'Office Boys' comment!

I'm looking forward to a challenge and have grafted hard each day since I left school at 16. I think it's the thought of being my own boss and in control that I like, but also the opportunity to start a company that could be so much more - I have high aspirations and intend to work hard to achieve them.
