well if you go back 10 to 15 years when tiling the add on was adhesive and grout so fast forward how many more things do you now add on to your avarege job

When I finished my apprenticeship in 73 would ride to the jobs on my trusted honda 90 carrying a couple buckets ,one 1/4 inch notched trowel,a gauging trowel,level,tile beater,snips tile chisel and scriber,a grout squeegee,kneepads,few sponges and some polishing cloth's and a shovel tied to the side of the bike,that was it compared to what I carry today.

Never heard of a 'tile beater'. Just Googled it and I now need one! Another tool for me to carry around!

A tile beater was just a piece of wood for beating the tiles into the sand & cement screed, to bed the tiles in and to get the tiles flat with no lippage.
