wivers

Just was wondering if anyone else has had any problematic addictions in their life.

I am a compulsive gambler i'm afraid, and i spent alot of time at GA trying to control the damn problem.

I first started to gamble about 8 years ago but it became a real problem about 4/5 years ago when i was going through bad spells with my ex.

I got myself in a lot of debt through this damn addiction, but i managed to control it when i met my wife and she helped me.

I still have bad times when i really want a bet, like when a big footy match is on and all me pals are havin a flutter or when i'm having a bare patch with work and start to panic about money.

I still give in now and again and find myself in the devils lair that is Ladbrokes and i feel like utter ****e every time i do.

I know this Post may be a bit deep lads but i was just wondering if anyone else had problems like this.

I have a theory that it happens alot with people in trades.

Sounds stupid but i was addicted to a computer game. Used to play a game called World Of Warcraft, basically an online game. Played it whenever i could, usually all day and night. If i finished work at four i would be playing by five past and wouldn't come off it until five in the morning. Was constantly late for work, hardly spoke to the wife because i was playing all the time. Went on for two years until the mrs said "i am taking Jack and we are leaving you" Things hit home and not played it since. Sounds stupid playing a computer game but it was an addiction. Bloody thing was even a main show in America on Operah because that many people have become addicted to it.

On the problem you are having Wivers i can really relate to it. My mum has problems with gambling on fruit machines. Has caused so many problems in the family it is untrue. Borrowing money from me to cover what she has blown on machines so my dad doesn't find out and then the next minute he finds out and im arguing with him. Can't do right for doing wrong.
Much easier said than done mate but keep away, only one winner in gambling.
