Hey guys new member and already looking for advice. I recently tiled my bathroom floor and its now lifted again as the adhesive did not grab the floor (Chip board) nor the tiles Porcelin tiles. I used B&Q finest :mad2: Ultra bond rapid set. Now i have since lifted the tiles and put down some plywood so am looking for a recommedation on adhesive to use as i want this to be the last time doing the floor.

Any recommendations??

Thanks
Allan

Welcome along. Sorry to throw another spanner into your dilemma but, a cement board would be a better choice for overboarding rather than ply, it is a much better surface to tile to. A deflection (bounce) free floor is essential for this to work so make sure your chipboard is well screwed down if you choose this route.

15mm ply plus adhesive and tile would take the floor level to around 25mm high. This is not an option as this would cause a small step that i would like to avoid. I have screwed the ply down at 250 mm intervals and feels firm. Would i be daft to continue to tile over this?
Your tiles will almost certainly crack if you continue. Hardiebacker 250 is the way to go as the other guys have said.....after lifting your ply first!!
