you can use rectangular ducting to get over access problems with a round duct. same area but a lower profile

with the floor check for deflection as simply srewing extra screws into the floorboards wont take the bounce out of the joists, nor will fixing marmox over the top

You tiler has recommended using ready mixed adhesive for a tile sized 600 x 300 mm with a substrate that is previously fixed tiles?

Do you have kids? Do you like them? If so, I suggest you purchase a crash helmet for them to wear whilst they are in the shower.

Afterthinking a bit about your six inch fan fnarr fnarr, you could have used it with a four inch duct, the ducts would have to be joined by a reducer or a convergent duct, the fan would suck the air from the bathroom and then push it into the four inch pipe, the air then would have to travel faster and then be under less pressure so long as the same amount of air was exiting the duct at the exhaust, the exhaust is the only tiny problem in that if there is insuficient pressure to open the duct vents (because fast air is under less pressure) then the fan will not work efficiently, a way around this would be to put a larger diameter pipe at the end of the four inch length joined with a divergent cone and then the faster air would enter this area and slow down thus building up pressure and opening the ducts, bit of a venturie system, so I think it would work under those circumstances (it does for jet engines):smilewinkgrin:
