I'm going to start tiling my bathroom in a week or so and have read with interest a lot of posts on this great forum.
I'm going to aquapanel the 'shower area' and board the rest where required (some of the existing plasterboard was obliterated when i removed the old tiles!)
I'm using 40cm x 30cm tiles, It seems the general consensus is to use powdered adhesive and grout but what i want to know is which is best for the job?
Is BAL much better than dunlop? are there any cheaper alternatives, wickes?
Which adhesive has the best 'water resistentness'

Any advice, greatly received, this will be my first tiling adventure so be gentle...

hi phil ..IMO bal is the better product..even seen as both products are made by the same comp....
bal single part flexi is the one i would go for...along with bal micro flex grout...
There are cheaper brands and some of the members have the favourite's as well just like me..( bal )...good luck mate and let us know how you get on......

I think its all been said above, if you use BAL you can't really go wrong. There are many sheaper alternatives but with adhesive you generally get what you pay for. Only thing I would add is that is you are using white or a light coloured grout, use a white adhesive.
With regards to the adhesive being water resistant I think you'll find all cement based adhesives are water resistant to pretty much the same degree. The thing that makes the difference is that the more polymer they have the harder it is for the water to pass through.

yup like dhceramics said, i would use bal its way better than dunlop and it spreads easyer and dosnt try to quick
