advice again please

been on a job today and am in the process of getting the old tiles off the wall. i have got the bumpy adhesive off the wall and it is perfectly flat . am i ok to leave a 1mm layer of adh on the wall? also do i need to prime or anything? the walls are spot on level. i will be using weber fix plus. got a really good price at ctd £5 plus vat. have used the wr plus in the past and thought it was excellent. anyone else used the weber fix plus and is it ok for around the bath, with the shower being used daily? also got a really good deal on tiles and border from al murad tiles. anyone else used their tiles and are they any good? i have a glass border to put up aswell each tile is about 2"or "3 can these be cut with a manual rubi?. they gave me free adh (tubbed) sealocrete water resistant. told customer not to use it and bought weber. anyone used this ?also everbuild grout anyone used this. ( am using bal microflex to be safe) customer has given me the free adh. shall i bin it???? sorry for the long post. thanks in advance for your help.
ps took tiles off the wall and hardly any adh was stuck to the tiles although it is solidly stuck to the wall. why couldnt it have been the other way around?????

If the 1mm adhesive is solid then you should be ok to leave it but with small mosaics i wouldn`t want anymore than that on there! If in doubt prime with something like BAL apd, won`t harm it either way. Can`t help you with the other stuff mate cos i`ve never used it

8 questions,easy on dude,
i use mapei adh mostly so can't comment on your stuff,
the glass tiles i can !
I'v been working with glass tiles on and off for the the last few weeks now,
my sigma scores the well if uses lightly and then the best way to snap them is with your nippers !! thats the best way i'v found on my tiles, sizes 100mm to 300mm.

Can't help with the adhesive Conners, only ever used it during training but according to my "Weber Tiling Solutions" hand book it seems to be an ok choice for tiles up to about 300x300.

BAL Microflex will be fine for your grout.

do you think it will be ok for the glass border. it is on a mat and each individual tile is about 3". will the rubi cut glass ok . cheers mate and thanks for your help

It will fix the glass border as long as your wall is porous, as in not glazed ceramic or the like. As the adhesive is an air drying compound it needs somewhere for the moisture to go too. Glass would lock in the moisture so it needs to get out through the grout lines and substrate. It will take longer than normal to dry in this case.

As for the Rubi cutting the tiles, I have no idea. I use a montolit. Only way to find out is try and cut one! I have a suspicion it will just smash though.

i'd use weber wr plus where the shower is mate. weber fix plus is not meant for wet areas. that's a good price for weber fix plus, which ctd is that at?

its national mate. should have got a pamphlet through the post i was informed. ALTHOUGH I DIDNT... warrington. anyone else like the weber stuff. superb prices compared to bal. dont know if its as good though. cheaper than toppfix. whitestar the best upto now for grip etc . will have to see ???

The offers ate CTD will be region to region....check with local branch to see if they have the offers on yet...
