Due to another edition to the family ie. a nephew for me
We have decided to convert the loft into a office the loft has a pitched roof
The property is a new build August 2007
Next week am having 18mm chip board flooring over the joists
Have ordered a velux centre pivot roof window to go in
Have also ordered a new metal fakro loft ladder as the current one is mickey mouse.
My aim is to convert it totally into a room where me and my brother can have our office for his work and laptop for my leisure.
The first bit of advice i wanted was the builder who is also a friend has said he wil fit 3 hoists i think they r calledor mite b RJC to hold the pitched roof up once he has removed the gables.
Is there any particular type i should buy???
Another very important advice i need is i have decided to opt for insulation boards rather than cheap plaster board i have looked into Celotex 100mm Insulation Boards? £30 for a 2400 x 1200 sheet
Am i paying too much ? Or is there another brand which is better ?
Over the next few months will keep adding to this thread as things progress
And look forward to hearing from the all rounders who may have done a project like this.
Many Thanks Raja
