ADVICE please

[Diamond Pool Finishers]

This pool in north London the builders have concreted right up to the back edge of the pool top, with no expansion joint between pool and surround :yikes: ,now the pool edging tiles are 20cm wide so the joint falls directly over where concrete meets pool shell, so what would you guys go for here ? an anti-crack membrane ? or forming an expansion joint in the tiling where pool surround tile meets edging tile ? as surly this has a very high risk of cracking !!!.

Secondly the mezzanine floor above the pool has been plyed over i have checked for deflection and the builders have had to fixed down a lot more so no bounce,lol what adhesive would you guys personally use ? would you use an anti-crack membrane ? would you use a primer of any sort, thanks for any replies ,very interested in how different guys would approach these aspects :hurray:

I can't picture the first part Diamond, but as for the plywood i'd certainly prime with Mapei Eco Prim T and fix Ditra matting using and quality adhesive like Mapei Keraflex, or Keraflex Maxi. I never tile direct to plywood.

Dave I would cut my own control joint in the concrete at the 200mm where the tile ends and use this point as the expansion joint ,the plywood above on the mezzanine is going to be a major issue if it is not top quality marine grade plywood as it will be in a constantly high humidity environment ,ditra would probably work well as bugs has suggested
