Advise on tanking a newly plastered wall

Hi there

Thanks for looking at my post.. I’ve recently stripped of a whole bunch of tiles off the wall, I want to retile this area and put in a shower cubical. When I ripped the old tiles, it left a pretty uneven & messy wall, so I have bonded the wall using coat thistle bonding about 5mm thick

I have a couple of questions..

1) Can I tile onto a bonded wall or does it have to have a top coat of finishing plaster

2) Ho2 long would you recommend leaving the new bonding/ plastering before I tile the shower area

3) I was planning to tank the newly bonded walls with BAL WP1, can I paint it straight onto the bonded wall? and if yes.. how long should I leave the bonding to dry?

Put a finish coat over the bonding and wait for it to fully dry.

What tiles are you fixing and what did you use to seal the existing plaster before bonding

thanks for getting in touch... I sealed the walls with a 5-1 mix of PVA and Water, let that dry and then did another coat of 3-1 mix of PVA and water. I then did the bonding while this coat while the coat of 3-1 pva was still tacky.

The Tiles I'm using are ceramic.

does this give enough infomation for you to be able to advise ?

I would Skim the bonding so it's smooth and flat, would leave it for about 4 days or until it all turns a white colour (not patchy) then prime it before tanking
