An Unusual Practice of Fixing

Went to look at a bathroom which I've got to tile for a window company as they get involved with building work as well, I was shown one shower room which has been nearly completely tiled with work just to finish around the window.

Now comes the interesting bit, I spoke to the guy who works for the firm who does the...Bricklaying, plumbing and everything else but dos'nt like tiling.

The tiles in the shower room are about 200 x 300mm ceramic and have been fixed to new plaster...standard tile powdered adhesive, not a flexy one and no primer on the new plaster...all walls are timber stud work and grouted in the corners with no Silicon..

Life time with no problems ?????????

Nice....I recently saw a house where the woman had spent £15000 on Porcelanosa products. ALL of the floor tiling was stuck down on chipboard. It also looked like the shower walls were chipboard too. I know that Porcelanosa say that they have a wood adhesive that's ok with chipboard but this set off alarm bells. On the upside, the tiling was good.

Sounds like what's known as "Northern Ireland Style Tiling". :lol:

Amazing how many of the jobs are held together by the grout until you go to strip them and then they just fall from the wall. Stripped dot and dabbed, pva'd 28m bathroom walls in 15 minutes last week. :lol:
