Dear tilersforums.com,
Over the past couple of months events have occurred that have involved forum members and forum 'staff'. Without going into detail we just want to say that such matters should be discussed and sorted out offline in the future, and not involve the forum. Personal goings-on are personal and not up for public discussion, so this thread will be locked. If anybody wishes to find out information about what's going on then feel free to contact those involved, that said they're not obliged to respond. If anybody would like to ask us something then please contact us in the usual way (link at the bottom of the forum) and we will respond in due course.
Please do NOT post threads asking the forum questions about personal issues. You need to address them off the forum and to the people you wish to address them to. The forum management know as much as you lot do. Any threads posted with such questioning will be removed as soon as we have been notified.
Recent events have caused upset with many members, some of which have left the forum permanently, some have taken a step back, and Doug has stepped down from his moderator role too. All members involved in recent discussions are welcome back any time they wish.
The forum as a whole continues to grow and will always be the busiest tile advice forum, and the biggest in the world bar John Bridge's beast.
I would personally like to apologise for not noticing the 'heat' sooner. Clearly as the issues were personal and not to do with the forum, I had no right to step in and fix 'opinions' that had been posted live. Though once a public argument was started, it is clearly too late to fix. The only thing we could do was remove said discussions and allow those involved to sort it out offline.
I personally had several personal emails (rightly or wrongly) copied to me by one person, and often at 1am via Facebook and email. And the personal issues were something that A) I should NOT have been copied into and B) could not possibly fix. I feel sorry for all parties involved and as always would welcome them all at any time.
Clearly this has resulted in us needing to change a couple of things with the forum. We'll keep you updated with these changes once we have fully discussed them and trialled them.
I want to personally thank ALL members, current and past for all their hard work they put into the forum and as I've said already, would welcome all those that have left back at any point in the future. And also thank Doug for his hard work he has put into the forum over the years.
We will be changing things and the changes will be here soon, and will be announced to all.
tilersforums.com will have all the same format but a few more rules and guidelines for both the members (trusted and regular) and the 'staff' or 'management'.
We understand a respect people's advice they have given us and will make sure that we shape the forum for you all, and keep evolving.
Thanks for reading (and understanding that this thread is locked and cannot be replied to).
Kind Regards,
Dan
