Hey Everyone

This is my first post on this forum, so thanks for having me.

I used an ceramic anti-slip treatment on about 80 sq m of tiles inside and outside my house. While it has done a decent job of reducing the slipperiness of all the tile surfaces, the white tiles in the main hallway are now patchy. I followed all the directions to the letter (three applications five minutes apart and then wash off with water). The only thing I've tried so far is sugar soap in warm water with a scrubbing brush, but haven't had any success. Are they buggered or can something be done to rescue them?

Thanks and kind regards

Tony

hi, do you have any pics so we can see the extent of damage.

the trouble with anti slip kits or solutions is that they generally contain fluorid based ingredients, you are in theory burning micro pores into the surface of the finish. you will always need to test on an unlaid tile to determine time of contact of product and suitability ,Every tile will be different!! if you try to to do to larger areas at a time the product can separate leaving un sightly marks or over work. this can lead to a burn to the surface/mottled effect on the tile and is not usually reversible . again if we can see the damage , we could comment further.

just a tip, if you guys ever have to use a anti slip product; test on one un-laid tile / split it into 5-6 sections and mask off these sections -perhaps 2-4-6-8-10 minute applications; apply product to tile and wash off after these timed sections ,this will give you the degrees of anti slip you can produce and also you can see at what point the tile will damage if it does. this is for our kit - but a good test for all.
