for cutting around a door frame when laying on diagonal,im talking about doors that cant be cut to pose the tile under like metal doors etc;just want to know is their a trick ive missed cheers

draw the outline on the tile and cut lol

Cut it to tile size and then trim to fit around said obstacle.. once correct ..transfer to tile ..

Accurate measuring Stephen and allow for a small expansion gap if you cant push the tile under the architrave

are we talking about a metal door or a frame stephen? you can template it /scribe it round the frame if thats what you mean

Tape measure , small set square , 2" wide piece of the tile for gauging and a pencil.

Tip: try to think of the tiling as laid straight and the doorway is on the diagonal might help you get your head around it and try and sit / kneel so the tiling looks straight to you , then mark it out.

you can use a piece of solder wire to help you

You can use some a piece of tile cut diagonally to measure.

Templates are for sissies.

Roofing square and a rule is effective. Door frames are handy enough, radiator legs are a bit more taxing.
