Hi all.

I am looking to learn a trade and i have read that tiling is quite a good trade to get into. I just wondered if you dont mind giving me some advice please.

It is going to be a career change for me as at the moment i am a personal trainer, but i am only 21 so i am still quite young. I am finding it quite hard at the moment to make a living and i have always fancied having a career in a trade.

I am just looking for general advice really on what is sometimes the best way into tiling. I have a few friends in various trades who do quite well from them. Does anyone have any experience with the above website in terms of tiling courses and where can you go once you have finished the course?

Of course, all of my qualifications are in fitness/nutrition, so if you could advise also on other decent qualifications, experience, etc... it would be great.

Thank you.

Interesting that you've decided to try tiling as a trade; near me in Oxford plumbers charge in the region of £80-90 an hour so that sounds like the way to go!

Seriously though, I was a teacher but am now a profeesional tiler and loving every minute of it. I did a 5-day course at the Yorkshire Tiling Academy in Bradford which was fab. The tutors are very experienced tilers who can also teach - they really have the knack. Everything was explained in detail and you got to complete your own wall & floor tiling projects and underfloor heating too. They guys were totally helpful and enthusiastic about passing on their valuable knowledge.
I'd definitely recommend them.
