hi all,
i have previously always fixed aquapanel to frame for walls and used thermal on floor ,as fairly new to tiling this has worked well as long as the panels are keeped levelled/flat/sq,makes tiling alot easier for me,but with the current job(shower room) i am restricted with the widths and was thinking of panelling direct to wall with adjustable frame screws, wich should allow me to play around with pannels for levelling,
what im not sure of is

1. will these galvanised screws rust over time and pop tiles off
2.is it ok to secure aquapanel direct to walls with adjustable screws
3.can i secure with addy(bit worried that the wght of boards will not allow)?

unfortunately i already sold the advantages of aqaupanel to customer as walls looked in bad condition ,but after stripping old tiles off ,not bad at all,
learning the hard way.:mad2:

any advice greatly appriciated
thnks

  1. Dab the screw heads/holes with some WPC; problem solved/preempted
  2. Not exactly sure what you mean by "adjustible screws"; Aren't most regular screws adjustible to a degree? You need to make sure they hit the joists/studs though.
  3. Yes, you should be able to secure with flexible rapidset adhesive. Not sure which ones are suitable though, as I'm not familiar with the products on the British market

Hey Sandman,

Ok I sell a rival but I hope my answers can help.

Galvanised hotdipped or double dipped, stainless steel or brass should be could.
As for the addy I would use their own brand or mech fix. The concern would be a lot of these boards can reuseable. You have to factor the weight of the board and the tiles. I would recommend speaking to tech and check. The may deny blame if it fails.

I have heard of a swimming pool area using Aqua and he didnt glue or used to heavy tiles. The result was the tiles stayed on the board and the board just dropped off the wall.
