It's the fastest setting addy I've ever used! I got a pallet for a job I was doing as it was a good price but I'd never used it before...... big mistake. Knocked up a full bag as I usually do and 2 of us couldn't get through it before it went off. In certain circumstances it would be great but as a day to day adhesive it's no good for me.

It sounds stupid but I think Ardex have sped the setting time up a bit. I used to use it a few years ago and it was fine/workable a bag at a time. Had some about a month ago and like you said 10min later it was nackered and I was fighting to get my trowel out the bucket. Just too quick to use.
Now I just use it for emergency fixes where I havn't got time to wait

I think i'm generally slowing down as i turn into an old git, i'm starting to prefer standard set for most jobs if i'm honest. Especially with this warm weather, any rapid set seems extra rapid or as i say i'm the one not going quick enough......

Stef, x7r is seriously fast setting. Where you mixing from fresh clean water or maybe using water from another bucket that could have been slightly warmer? Ps, I like X7R for fixing trims as its so rapid. Great stuff!

I was mixing it up to fix Hardie so it would be slightly wetter than I would mix for floor tiles.

I took them back today & swapped them for Weber.

Trying to save myself a couple of £££'s.
