Are thicker tiles best?

Hi all,

Are thicker tiles always better?
I think I have found a tile that I like which is to be used in a house entrance. It is a 10mm porcelain, the same colour tile is available in a ceramic at 8mm for roughly half the price. Would you agree it is worth spending the extra?

I'd say so in this instance Rich, ie high traffic area

even at double the price the porc is a good choice for high traffic,
will still look great in 50 years time

i'm always sceptical about laying ceramic on floors as they tend to wear quickly and look dull and dirty after not a lot of time,whereas porcelain tend to look great still after many years

If it was my floor I would spend the extra and buy porcelain
