What are your thought on arrows onthe backs of tiles

Ive been told in the past that so they come off the tile press the same way they put an arrow on the back

But when the tile have a grain or a pattern to them the tiles will have an arrow

Whats your thoughts on the subject

We've noticed on some the grain pattern only goes one way across the tiles and if you don't fit them arrows going same way it sticks out like a sore thumb, on others it doesn't seem to make a difference like on smooth glazed but we keep arrows uniform anyway, good practice and all that

all ways follow the arrows on a plain glazed tile when glazed on a production line if you put the arrows different ways it will look like you have two differnt shades of tiles i would put two tiles in the light differnt way round stand back look at shade

It's the same as 'green side up' when laying turf, so you don't have a shading problem :smilewinkgrin:

I always hold the tiles with the arrows going the same way to back screed them in that direction:lol:

I tend to only look at the face.

some tiles that are 600x600 are then cut into 2 or 4 for 600x300 or 300x300, you can tell as the edge on the bottom isnt always the same but on one of the tiles there will be an arrow.
how does it work then??
zamora range from a well know tile shop does this.
