amazing thing aspirin..
as dom said, they are now proven to prevent certain cancers!!! and they also thin the blood so doctors prescribe them to people who have had heart attacks but be carefull, because if you drink a lot of alchohol, that also thins the blood too, so aspirin and regular whiskey sessions can cause the blood to be like water and that can affect its ability to clot in the normal way!!!l my dad suffered a heart attack at 45!! he used to take half a tablet every day afterwards, never has had another but, did develop alzheimers at 58 ?????????????????????????

i thought to myself, im gonna start taking aspirin about 3 yrs ago, but i didnt realize that everytime you take one, they cause a small heomorage in the stomach wall and i suffered a big one lol...it also caused a duodenal ulcer in dec 2008 and i had to have a camera down my throat while i was awake with no sedation lol lol
all good hey?? so now, i just eat well and excercise and put the rest down to luck...

but yeah, they are good! but just check with you local doctor first ;0)

ps dom and dave....look on the bright side, your both younger that brad pitt and tom cruise ;0)

Yes, a lot of research has been done, but the stomach issue is a problem, I can't take aspirin, nor ibuprufen, so I don't like it much. In Germany the hospital nurses recommendation is actually to take it with water first thing on an empty stomach, so it doesn't sit there on top of food causing trouble but is moving on swiftly. To me the first step in preventative medicine is a healthy lifestyle, I don't think there is such a thing as a panacea, except of having a good sense of humour :)

You ave to be careful with results on some things, when something is linked doesnt necessarily mena its proven. I havent read the article as yet btw.

There was some research done on the MMR jab fr kids a few years ago saying it caused problems etc etc. Loads of people opted out and their kids were put through potentially dangerous illnesses. It was later proven that the results were unfounded and he was struck off.

Personally ill start taking it if the proof stay that way in 5-10 years time.
