B&Q Porcelain Tiles - Is there an alternative

Hi, I'm just about to dive in and purchase about 20 boxes of the Beige Porcelain tiles from B&Q but have just joined this forum and noticed some of the comments about the wax covering etc and how much of a pain in the arse it is to get off (and I know my mate who will laying these and he won't be putting too much effort in) so basically do all porcelain tiles come like this or is there an alternative and any links (if that is allowed)...and sorry for around about the same sort of price range, give or take a few quid, cheers and thanks for any help or advice

Try Tile Giant, they have some nice tiles avaialable. The transit wax is nothing to do with the shop wehere you buy them from, its the manufacturer.

Ahhh right cheers, I thought it could have been a general thing with Porcelain tiles or something...I have a complete knowldge of 0% when it comes to tiling so any help is greatly received, cheers

I havent used the tiles from B&Q that you mention but I have heard enough to make even me as a professional tiler steer clear if possible.

Well I bought a box yesterday to see what they looked like just on the floor and the instructions for cleaning etc put me off alone and as I said my mate who will be laying them won't want to be bothered doing all that so I'm trying to steer away from them if I can

I have just bought and laid a porcelain tile from tile giant called Jakarta. I thought it was a good standard and easy to lay .

Cheers everyone for the comments, going to pay Tile Giant, Chester a visit on the weekend so hopefully will be able to sort something else and not have to deal with those B&Q tiles

laid 30m2 a few weeks ago. mark very easy before sealing.
wasnt practial too seal before laying. when the cilent sealed them they lost a bit of there shine.
not keen on them myself , but people love cheap..

The best tools to buy for B & Q tiles are a hammer and rubbish bin !!!
