B & Q rubbish

Just done a kitchen floor with a b&q floor tile it was ceramic with a very soft biscuit British tile absolute rubbish they are really soft can not believe they sell these tiles as a floor tile they are more like a wall tile the only bonus was the grout goes off a treat,the customer said that b&q told her it was a hard domestic floor tile, what do they know.

Yeah I've done them on a couple of floors, biscuit like chalk, very fragile.

If it is the ones i am thinking of , then they are walls tiles.. is it the Johnsons ones..?

Yes Dave, they claim them to be wall and floor, or at least they did when I last fitted them, that was a couple of years back now. I did advise against it but, some people want what they want.

I have used the Johnson tiles before but these were not them these came in B&Q boxes and are a light travertine effect the size are 330 mm x 330mm.

ive knocked 2 jobs back this year with those tiles, if you read the web site, they recomend light foot traffic only, ie bathroom floor, allthough i wouldn't even fit them on a bathroom floor, as dave said there a wall tile, and how they can sell them as a floor tile is unbelievable..

I've refused several jobs because of these tiles too, Johnsons really should know better, rubbish floor tiles.

I totally agree they chipped so easily really felt for the lady but did explain how inferior they are but she still told me to continue definitely a wall tile

Some shops really will sell any old crap, turned up to tile old lady's bathroom today, 500 x 250 ceramics, (13m2) and 2 tubs of adhesive!!!! I insisted she take them back for full refund and i would use my own (Webber set) ... Oh, and cheap nasty square edge plastic trim, i wonder how much they stung her for that!

A lot of b and q tiles vary in size by 1 or 2 mm, nightmare getting grout lines running through

evning all, iv used these could not belive they say there floor tiles, all you can do is tell the punter, its there choice,

used a different tile to that one from b and q recently that was definately a wall tile but stated floor tile when i checked the site they had changed the tile description to walls only unbeleivable

I wonder if this is down to B & Q or Johnsons. Presumably if Johnsons say a tile is suitable for flooring, that should be sufficient although I appreciate the manufacturers are likely to be under considerable pressure to provide products 'at the right price'. I just had to return 15 mtrs of 600 x 300 Johnsons glazed ceramics cos they were so bowed they couldnt be fixed half bond. Job now at a standstill awaiting a resolution. Not impressed

Yes I could not believe they were floor tiles so I checked the boxes and it clearly stated floor tiles,how do they get away with it I just dont know, I can see myself going back in a few months when she drops something on them,I had to put the washing machine and cooker back was a bit cautious.
