back board for granit wall tiles

hi , just want to ask somebody about laying havy granit tiles...
they r very hevy and i know that must use some backboard...
can u tell me cheap option for doing that?
I'm very good when it comes to porcelain and ceramic but herdly had my hands on natural stone.

If I understand you correctly you would like a cheap option to lay granite tiles? well thats easy as there is no cheap option, do it correctly or they will be on the floor in bits the next day.You need to tell us exactly what the substrate is that they are going on. Be as specific as you can.

sorry for a delay...my broadband went off.
the walls are made with bricks , have render and plaster more then 10 years old.
I herd that u can (dot and dab) waterproof plasterboard on top of them and lay the tiles straight on top of it. Is that correct ??

What is the weight of the granite tiles?
