Advice please

nicobond tile backer board

Can someone advise me on this product, for overlaying floors?

I was going to try using Nicobond tile backer board fixed onto chipboard with Nicobond rapid set ady, hoping to remove the need to overboard with ply, however I discovered that the Nicobond tile backer is made from polystyrene and is not a cement board. I've also seen aqua panel, no more ply, Hardi backer, marmox backer. Is the Nicobond backer board ok for this or best used on walls, or are one of the other products better....??

cant you get hardibacker in your area ? use that.

There's not much selection from where I'm from. Only one local independent supplier, who charge the earth, and mainly stock Nicobond and bal products. They could order the Hardi backer but it'd cost me an arm and a leg. Where's the best place to buy it from, can you buy direct??

1200x800 hardi are £8:39 from CTD..if you use a fair bit of it it might be worth ordering on line..or get hold of Hardie and ask where the nearest stockist is to you...

You can buy it online from Tile Backer Board | Dry Lining | Insulation Express They are actually Sheffield Insulation. You might want some insulation under the UFH so you might be better off using something like Marmox instead of the Hardie board.
