BAL Supercover....

Never used BAL adhesives (other than SPF) for a few years now and have a job to price with this stuff.

Anyone know what sort of coverage you get with a 6mm serator?

I don't see how you would get more coverage than SPF but never used it and probably never will tbo!!

apparently you get up to 60% more coverage , that standard adhesives, ive never used it though

Use it quite a bit, you get 6m from a 15kg bag (10mm square trowel) as opposed to 5m from a 20kg bag of spf. It takes some getting used to, I hated it when I first used it, mixes up really fluffy and seems to be really dusty when pouring it out of the bag!

I have used it several times now and love it. Mix up a relatively small amount and you can tile an entire bathroom floor it amazes me how long a mix lasts. It is probably now my favourite BAL floor adhesive.

But I love Mapei too Deano...... honest:smilewinkgrin:

Takes longer to gain tensile strength.. so a NO from me.

I've used it before and love it, only with a 10mm trowel though. With a 6mm trowel, I would say your looking at 8-9m2,

i do like alot of bal products.......apart from the price, however this stuff i cant stand, it mixs up like the old bal fast flex, realy dusty to mix, if your outside mixing and its windy when you pour it half of it will be down the street, its a pain to get off your hands and tools, and if using bal i much prefer to use the normal rapid set.

As above mixes like the old Bal flex nightmare to get of your tools and hands dont like the fluffy puffed up texture good pot life though. dont think its any where near 60% more coverage. Novelty adhesive wont sell wont last.

Can some one please advise the area of useage - ie why was it developed and what it is aimed at - I've used Bal Fast Flex a lot - the dark grey and agree its difficult to work with until your used to it. Bal F/F works very well indeed on flexible floors but coverage is only about 2-3 m2 using a 10mm trowel. So you BAL lovers, why would I use it - What colour(s)
