Started today, 900x600 limestone job.

Customer wants 8mm ish joints so that makes it a bit easier on the eye with the chiseled/tumbled edges.

They are undecided on which grout colour, I was leaning towards a grey for these, would like some opinions please.

Start laying tomorrow on top of the Idrobuild Tex crack mat. This is a decent mat and by far the cheapest plus it is made by Kerakoll.

I like it. Cheaper than other crack mats especially from my supplier. 50m rolls too!
Having used it once I don't think I would again. It's very easy to cut and fit, and VERY cheap, but basically parchment and doesn't fill me with any confidence whatsoever.
Out of all the crack mats I've used tile master's one is still my go to. I've not tried isomats yet though and heard good things.

Started laying today - done around 21m but would have been more if it wasn't for opening the rest of the pallets to fine unhoned slabs!!

So customer not happy and but the place she bought them from are going to swap no quibble - but when is the problem.

As you can see from the photos below, I just thought it was a shade variation but it turns out they were not honed to the same standard as the first pallet I opened. Only did one row of cuts as you can see but two of those were in the doorways ..... doh!

On one

Bal limestone or some sort of beige .
If you use bal limestone do a test mix first and let it dry to see how it comes out . As @timeless john says it's known for being shady
I did some Limestone a few years back with the Bal Limestone, I seem to remember it being a(shockingly) grey colour when mixed in the bucket, but dried out ok.

I am informed about the reason that idrobuild tex
It is not for sale in Italy.
answer: idrobuild tex is not suitable for UNI standards, while it is suitable
to BS standards.
If I want to buy it, there are no problems they can sell it to me
but kerakoll assumes no responsibility.
I told them that I will buy mapetex of mapei ... :) haha

To me, it looks and feels no different.
