Hi all, I'm new to this and I'm looking for some advice. I have a bathroom and kitchen floors to tile in my own house and was going to give it a bash myself so your advice would be much appreciated. The bathroom is 3mts2 on floor boards and kitchen 9mts2 on concrete floor. I have bought 6mm plywood for the bathroom and the kitchen seems level but would I still need plywood in the kitchen? I have also bought starlight quartz tiles and mapei glitter grout plus kerapoxy design so would I need to put anything on the tiles to seal before grouting if so could you recommend anything?
Thanks for your help and I look forward to hearing from you!!

hi rubble,6mm ply is too thin for the bathroom you would be better using 6mm cement boards instead or 18mm plywood

concrete for the kitchen is Phone you dont need to over board this, tiles need sealed yes

if im honest and this is your 1st tiling job if i was you id get a pro in to do it,,these tiles are expensive and so is glitter grout and both are difficult to work with especially as a 1st job

if you use a pro, they may be able to get you discount on tiles mats etc,,and as well if your gonna do this job you will need a good wet cutter

i think this is defo a big job for a first time, the tiles will need sealed before and after grouting with a polished tile impregnator, they will all need wet cut and a decent saw and blade is needed for these as they are tough tiles,as above 6mm ply is not suitable either 15mm ply or 6mm cement boards
