Need a few pointers.Im having to totally re-do my bathroom.2 walls have to come down completely,their lime plastered and the tiles that are all ready on are just pulling it all away so just going to have to rip it all out.Tiles on the main house walls seem to be coming off ok with not to much trouble.touch wood lol.1st ques is do i have to us water proof plasterboard to tile on.2nd ques is can i tile straight on to them with out plastering.Can i use normal plasterboard or is that a no no....any help would be greatfull.

You can use normal plasterboard and tank it in the wet areas (round showers, baths etc.) but you are better off using a cement based board. It is also advisable to use a cement based powder adhesive and grout neither are susceptable to damage by moisture in the way ready mixed adhesives are.

I would rather take the ceiling down but yes you can over board but make sure your screws are course thread for timber and the screws go into the timber joists about 20mm....so you will need 40mm screws to hold the lot up.

Just to add don't let the screw heads go thru the paper surface as it renders them useless.
