Bathroom Tiling - A few pointers needed please

I'm tiling 2 walls in my bathroom and would like suggestions on best products to use.
Tiles are ceramic 200 x 300 x 7mm thick being put onto new plasterboard with 2mm spacers. The two walls are not around the bath so will get minimal splashing. I'm competent but not a professional. I'm wondering about the following:
- Does the plasterboard need any priming before tiling
- Bead size to use for adhesive - is 6mm ok or should I go bigger
- Adhesive - tubbed (Bal Whitestar / Mapei D1?) or bagged cement based - if bagged have you any recommendations. Because I'm not as fast as a pro I would benefit from one with a longer open time
- Are any grouts more suitable than others for a non pro.

Trowel size? I would go 8mm

Mapei P9 bagged

A not too highly modified grout such as weber joint pro or mapei keracolor

If you prefer a ready mixed adhesive go for white star..

I would use bal white star,it's not as good as it used to be but will still do the job

If using tub addy I wouldn't prime as will slow the drying time .what do the rest of you's do

I would read the manufacturers instructions on the tub....

sounds like you have it sussed pal....equal cuts either side and no thin cuts top and bottom and work off a straight level batten and off you go.....best to get mould resistant grout for a bathroom...good luck.
