Best product to prime ply?

I am putting down 9mm ply onto a chipboard floor. Whats the best primer to use for it? Is Topp's own brand primer any good?

I've been told to use APD before by a couple of other tilers. Topps didn't have any left though. Is there own brand primer ok?

Depends what make of adhesive you will be using, normally it is recommended to use the primer by the same manufacturer as the addy. Ardex P51 and 7001 addy are superb for the type of job you are doing, used them on my own kitchen floor!

Topps dont have their own brand primer Felix,BAL bond SBR or BAL prime APD are the best in my opinion

My mistake. Label says Toppfix. I read Toppsfix.:embaressed_smile: Is tis any good?

Toppfix products are adhesives,and levelling compound,they have no primers in the range at all yet m8

no worries Felix,it will be absolutely fine,Topps dont use crap stuff when its under the Toppfix name

on ply you would be better off using bal bond sbr..............
