Best tubbed for ceramic on tanked plasterboard

Hi all,
I'm neeing advice on what tubbed adhesive to get (from B&Q) for ceramic wall tiles (30x20) on tanked plasterboard walls.

I'm hopeless at mixing bagged stuff, I cant get the consistency right (tiles sliding down the walls!), it goes off to soon and I'm wasting a lot of it each time ive used it... been through a 10kg of Mapei at the weekend and managed to do hardly anything.

Is there a suitable tubbed adhesive I can pick up from B&Q tonight so I can get this finished?

P.S ill be using Mapei bagged grout, this is just an adhesive im after.

You should not tile onto Tanking with Tubbed adhesive..

Get yourself something like mapei P9 and take your time with the water so not too runny it has a bucket life of about 8hrs so won't go off to fast for you.

I would advise against ready mix in a wet area, there are some that claim to be showerproof. As you have gone to the trouble af tanking the walls, I would suggest you persevere With the mixing, and use a good make slow set with suitable primer.

get yourself down to a local tile giant and get something like mapei p9 or adeslix,8 hour bucket life and probably the same price as b&q but better quality

At the risk of putting the cat amongst the pidgeons, BAL Grip and White Star (both tubbed addys) are actually fine for these size of ceramic tiles in tanked areas in showers. BAL Grip though is quite expensive even with trade discount.

But the tiles will need to be porous.. the water from the adhesive has to disperse and usually this is the substrate or the tiles biscuit.. unlike cement based adhesive that dries hydraulically..

So in theory it is always wise to use the proper product and not just one that might be ok.. and take ages to dry out..
