I been looking for a cutter of this size for a while, at a cheap price.
After reading on this forum a few week ago, that Big Clinkers were going for £50 at tradepoint. i called into B&Q yesterday, opened a trade account at the TradePoint counter. Just took a letter head.
After looking through their catalogue, the Big Clinker 25"/60cm, was in there at £68+vat. I asked the girl on counter if these were going for £50 previously. She typed in the code, and it came up as £38 INCLUDING VAT!!!!
Obviously i snapped it straight up. She wasn't sure if they are to be discontinued or something, but said they had 6 in stock (at Oldham).
Got it home, and it is a big boy! You'd probably get your money back weighing it in at the scrap yard lol!
I haven't experience of many other cutters, except the one i used on my training course (Rubi Star 40). But this big clinker is 99% steel, really solid feel. Infinitely better than the Rubi Star imo. I cut a few standard ceramic 30x30 floor tiles (not much of a test) but the cutter has a solid feel and a very easy clean cut. Absolute bargain!!:hurray:
